Thank
you for your interest in VIERS’
Summer Camps for 2011.
This is the 12th consecutive year that
Friends of Virgin
Islands National Park and other sponsors
have supported Clean Islands International
in presenting our
summer Eco-Camps at VIERS.
This summer we are
offering three types of camps:
Eco-Camps: for Virgin Islands students ages 7 to 12
years old
Science Camp: for Virgin Islands students ages 13 to 16
years old
Ranger-In-Training: for Virgin Islands students ages 13 to 16
years old
(select here for more information on this camp)
Eco-Camps: The program for the eco-camps is designed so that the
campers have a lot of fun
while learning
about the environment through hands-on activities and lessons.
VIERS Eco-Camps
are presented to
help each student understand a little bit more about the environment in which
they live in and why it is important to each of us as individuals to protect
our environment as best as we can.
VIERS and its educators will help students identify what some of their
daily responsibilities are in protecting, preserving, and conserving natural resources.
This summer we will continue our focus on coastal ecology through interactive
activities and lessons.

Science Camp: The program for the science camp has been
designed to provide hands on experience in a working waterside field marine
biology laboratory. Field
activities will be analyzed in the lab so that campers can experience real life
research practices.
Field activities
will include hiking, swimming and snorkeling.
And there will
also be time for fun stuff.

Each camper will
receive a camp t-shirt and a reusable water bottle.
The
coastal ecology oriented camps are offered at no charge
to
U.S. Virgin Islands residents, 7-16 years of age, and are scheduled as follows:
